Board of Directors

President Dennis Klein has been a board member for 2 years. He is a Jacksonville, Oregon resident and a Bay Area transplant. Dennis is retired after spending 35 years as a Middle School teacher in California. He taught English and Drama. He wrote, and or, directed 75 plays with children, and has been directing adult theater for 15 years. He has received many theatrical awards, including a 2007 Shellie Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Arts. As a board member, connecting the community and the theater is his goal. Oregon Stage Works has become his passion. Most recently at OSW, he has directed The Compleat Works of Shakespeare - Abridged, Scheme of the Driftless Shifter, and this year's hit, Deathtrap. Dennis is happily married to his wonderful, costuming wife, Donna. He is the proud father of two sons, Jesse and Alexander.


Treasurer Barbara Mathieson (Ashland, Oregon) earned a Ph.D. in Dramatic Literature from Stanford University. She taught in the freshman Great Works program for four years at Stanford, making an annual trip to Ashland each summer to enjoy the plays and local culture. In 1990 Barbara was delighted to accept a position in the English Department at Southern Oregon University, teaching World Literature, Shakespeare, English Literature, and American Drama until she retired in 2004.


Secretary Sunny Anderson moved to Ashland, Oregon in 2008. Prior to that, she lived in Seattle, Washington, where she was the National Director of Learning and Organizational Development for TCI, AT&T Broadband, and T-Mobile USA. Community activities in Seattle included volunteer leadership positions with Pacific Northwest Ballet, Seattle Opera, Intiman Theater, ACT, Leo K Theater and Empty Space. Sunny has a MA from the University of Washington in Educational Psychology and Business Administration. She currently works with OSF/Tudor Guild and is a Board Member of Rogue Opera as well as Oregon Stage Works.

Board Member Larry Medinger (Ashland, Oregon) has been an Ashland resident for over 40 years. As a long-time home builder, he designed and built many new homes including Mill Pond, Jessica Lane, Mountain Meadows, and others, and has remodeled many other older homes in town. Larry has served on numerous City and State Commissions and is current chair of the Oregon State Housing Council.


Board Member Katherine Sullivan (Ashland, Oregon) has been a Rogue Valley resident since 1989. She served on the Board of Directors of Actors' Theatre in Talent, Oregon for 3 years and helped found Oregon Stage Works. Kate holds a BA in Drama and Theatre from the University of Hawaii, Manoa. She is co-director of Ashland Children's Theatre.


Board Member Robert Kuenzel (Ashland, Oregon), graduate of Princeton University (A.B.) and the Northwestern University School of Law (J.D., summa cum laude), is a business and litigation attorney; he clerked for a federal appeals court judge and worked in two major national law firms for 14 years before forming his own law firm in 1995. Community activities have included service on the Boards of the Ashland Family YMCA (2000-06), the Ashland Schools Foundation (1999-03; Chair 2001-02); the Rotary Club of Ashland (2001-03); the Ashland Rotary Community Support Foundation (2004-present; Chair 2006-present); Havurah Shir Hadash (several terms, approximately 7 years); and Oregon Stage Works (2007-present).

Board Member Ginny Auer is a 16-year resident of Ashland, Oregon. Before moving to Ashland, she completed all the coursework toward a MFA in Acting at the University of Louisville, where she also had the honor of performing for children throughout Kentucky as a member of the U of L Rep Company. Ginny is the Major Gifts Officer for Southern Oregon Public Television. She has over 15 years of non-profit development and marketing experience involving various forms of fundraising, including event planning, major gifts programs, capital campaigns, developing and implementing public relations and marketing campaigns, as well as board development.

Board Member Glenn Cunningham (Ashland, Oregon) joined Nagel & Padilla, Certified Public Accountants and Business Advisors in 2009. Prior to that he was with Bader Martin, P.S., a Seattle, WA public accounting and business advisory firm. Before entering public accounting in 2005, his professional career focused on marketing and retail management, and includes executive positions at Amazon.com, Seattle; Harry & David, Medford; and American Greetings, Cleveland. In addition, Glenn has served as adjunct faculty in the School of Business at SOU. Glenn holds an MBA from Bentley College, Waltham, Massachusetts, and has completed postgraduate studies in accounting at Seattle University. He has served on the board, and as treasuer, of Seattle Arts & Lectures, the largest literary society in the U.S., and as a teaching volunteer with Junior Achievement and provided no-cost tax assistance through United Way. Glenn is licensed as a CPA in Washington and Oregon; is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the Oregon and Washington CPA Societies.

Board Member Craig Pisors moved to the Rogue Valley in 2004 from Southern California and lives in Jacksonville, Oregon. He is the Branch Manager of US Bank is Ashland, Oregon since joining them in early 2008. Prior to that Craig was the Branch Manager of Washington Mutual in Ashland, Oregon for 4 years and has over 16 years of banking experience. Community activities have included the Ashland Elks Lodge (2004-07) and currently the Rotary Club of Ashland.
